Party On the Piece
SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER
12 noon to 4.30pm Family-friendly gathering in Petersfield
Join Historyworks and other community organizations and food trucks and our local band, for ‘Party on the Pieces’ at St Matthews Park located between York Street and Sturton Street in Petersfield. Organized by P.A.C.T. (Petersfield Area Community Trust).
Historyworks will bring anew pop-up local history exhibition co-created with placement students from Parkside and Hills Road Sixth Form College, showing newspaper articles about two events during the second world war telling the story of the bombing of Petersfield in 1940. For children, Historyworks will have a table-top craft activity inspired by beasts from the Jurassic Period, Pterosaur-puppets. We may even sing the Michael Rosen “Pterosaur Poo Rap” he composed for our project with Cambridge schools. All materials provided free so children can take their artworks home afterwards! All are welcome!!
